Brewery Contreras brews Valeir, referring to the Ghent soldier who fought in the Battle of Gavere in 1453. His statue, on display in front of Gavere town hall, is incorporated into the labels of the Valeir beers.

Valeir exists as Valeir Blond (Blond speciality beer), Valeir Divers (triple beer), Valeir Extra (Belgian IPA) and Valeir Dark (double).
